British 10K Run Great Success!

It is with great pride that we announce the successful completion of the British 10K Run by our team of six volunteer runners: Kwan Hing Akbulut (May), Adrian Bines, Yiyi Yin, Shengbing Zhu, Xiaoxu Huang (Ken) and Peter Vinall. All of them braved the high temperatures on Sunday 14th July and managed to finish their race through Central London within their individual target times. What a fantastic effort!

All six runners trained incredibly hard over the past few months, and put equal dedication into their fundraising efforts too. A special mention must go out to Kwan Hing, who ran whilst fasting for Ramadan. These six runners ran to raise awareness of mental health issues faced by ethnic Chinese people in the UK, and also to raise money for CMHA’s services. They have the sincere gratitude of all of us here in the office.

We would also like to extend our thanks to all who have donated to the fundraising drive and helped in other ways; particularly to Lumiland Industries Ltd for their generous sponsorship and to the Metropolitan Police for their help in the coordination of volunteers. It’s still not too late to sponsor our runners! We hope you, our supporters, will continue to donate at http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/cmha10k2013 until the closing date of 14th August 2013. Every penny counts and all donations will go towards frontline services helping vulnerable people in the community!
