Yin and Yang

Yin and Yang is a foundation theory for Feng Shui that supports many other theories including the Five Elements theory and the Environment.

The concept of Yin and Yang represents the Chinese perspective of balance and continual change.

Although the Yin is opposite to the Yang, they are dependant on each other to create a balanced whole. The opposites flow in a natural cycle, just a spring, summer, autumn and winter flow in a cycle to create the seasons. We can think of Yang as symbolising aummer, while Yin symbolises winter. Spring and autumn thus represent the changes that take place in between.
